Lateisha Cartwright is the Resource Specialist for the DCRP and CATSD. She received her B.A., with honors, from Rutgers University in 2011. During her time at Rutgers, she began her mental health career at one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive community development organizations: New Community Corporation. She worked as an intern with NCC’s “New Start Program” located in Newark, NJ. During her internship as an Outreach Worker, she was able to help a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic groups improve their mental health and overall quality of life by connecting them to various community resources, including counseling and support, education and training programs, housing, and employment. Lateisha went on to work in Education Administration as a Center Director and Program Administrator for a college preparation company in Holmdel, NJ. This opportunity allowed her to work closely with teachers, counselors, and support staff from public and private schools throughout Central New Jersey to help improve the quality of learning for their students. Lateisha is eager to bring her program leadership experience and her passion for client advocacy to her role in our Psychiatry Department at MGH.
