Catherine Schuessler

Catherine Schuessler graduated from Northeastern University in 2023 where she studied Psychology and minored in Human Services. During her time as an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant in Northeastern University's Affective and Brain Sciences Lab, where she helped to set up a study on the neurological basis of emotions using fMRI and physiological data. Additionally, Catherine worked as a project manager in the Lifespan Emotional Development Lab at Northeastern University, where she worked on several studies examining the effects of aging on emotional regulation abilities. Her research interests include the role of social connection in the reduction of symptoms in patients with treatment-resistant depression and suicidal ideation. After her time at the DCRP, Catherine hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
