Naoise Mac Giollabhui is the Director of Research on Inflammatory Depression, a licensed clinical psychologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. His work investigates the role of the immune system in the etiology of a specific subtype of depression: inflammatory depression. The goal of his work is to identify the immune-based mechanisms causing inflammatory depression and to develop novel treatments that can alleviate symptom burden. His research has been supported by a number of awards and grants, including from the National Institute of Mental Health, the American Psychological Foundation, and the L.I.F.E. Foundation.
