
Dr. Joel Pava is a clinical psychologist who serves as Director of Psychotherapy Services at the DCRP, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry (Part-time) at Harvard Medical School. He completed his doctoral training in clinical psychology at New York University, a psychology internship at McLean Hospital, and clinical and research fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital. He provides clinical care, supervises psychiatry residents and psychology interns and fellows. His clinical expertise focuses on the practice of cognitive-behavioral and other psychotherapies in mood disorders. He has a strong interest in integrated psychotherapeutic and pharmacological treatments of patients with depressive disorders, and has participated in clinical research involving applications of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in depression and in smoking cessation. He is a Diplomate, Founding Fellow, and Certified Trainer/Consultant of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
