Benjamin Shapero, PhD

MGH has been at the forefront of many scientific advances in treatments for depression.

Dr. Benjamin G. Shapero is a clinical psychologist at the DCRP and Assistant in Psychology at MGH. Dr. Shapero received his doctoral degree from Temple University and completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship in the Psychiatry Department at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Shapero’s research focuses on cognitive, environmental, and biological factors associated with the onset and maintenance of mood disorders. He is particularly interested in examining the relationship between stress and depression during transitional ages. Dr. Shapero hopes to develop effective prevention and intervention methods to stem the often course of depression throughout the lifespan.  View Benjamin’s research:
